As a child I won a minor poetry contest. I don't recall the poem, but the title was penned "The Color Red" As part of the win I was invited to a lovely Historic Hotel to collect a long-ago forgotten prize. When I entered the lobby, my young eyes popped wide open. I took in decadent gold accents and luxurious carpet. All the while wondering, was I really supposed to be here? It was glorious!
I lost my words after winning that contest, but they were found again after a painful loss. Coincidentally the first poem in my book is called "Red" this book is a glimpse of my poetry. I thought about calling it "Just some words that fell onto a page" That would not be correct. Words are so much more. They can bring irreparable sadness or immense joy. Words can bring the most thought-provoking beauty, stunning visuals, images from afar.
